SALEM – Mrs. Ruth Ann (Moulison) Walsh, 89, of Salem, beloved wife of the late Thomas E. Walsh, died peacefully, Monday, March 4th, 2024 at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill surrounded by her family.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Francis J. And Frances A. (Holloran) Moulison. She was raised and educated in Salem, attended the former St. Mary's Grammar School in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School.
Mrs. Walsh began her professional career with the Sylvania Company and was associated with them for 5 years. She matriculated to working in the City of Salem School Department in the school administration central office as a secretary from 1974 until the time of her retirement in 2014. In retirement she worked as a para-professional at the Bowditch School in Salem. She loved helping and being around children and shared her love with them freely.
A lifelong resident of the city of Salem, Ruth was a caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Ruthie was very active through her volunteer work throughout the school department. She was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed supporting the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. She enjoyed spending her time with her family and never missed an episode of her favorite Judge Judy. She had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her beloved dog, Barney and cat, Stitches. She was ultimately proud of her family and their accomplishments. Above all else, she was an adoring grandmother who will be deeply missed.
Ruth is survived by her daughters, Ann Marie Bergman and her husband, Paul, of Haverhill, Sue Pennell and her husband, Michael, of Haverhill, her son, Thomas F. Walsh of Beverly, her grandchildren, Keri, Jennifer, Kristen, Nils, Aedan, Colin, and Payton, her great grandchildren, Tyler, Keira and a soon to be great-granddaughter, Avery Kate, her sister, Mary Reintges of Danvers and several nieces and nephews and her longtime friends and neighbors, Frank and Mary Spak. She was the sister of the late John F. Moulison.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM, Tuesday, March 12th at 11 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours Monday, March 11th from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.
