SALEM - Mr. Santo F. Calabro 76, lifelong resident of Salem, beloved husband of Cynthia (Thompson) Calabro, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 28th, 2024 at Lebanon Center in Lebanon, NH surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Anthony and Josephine (Lenares) Calabro. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School.
Mr. Calabro led a fulfilling life devoted to service, having worked as a maintenance professional in the Salvation Army for many years where he found joy contributing to charitable and religious endeavors and where he made many lifelong friends. As a young man he worked for several years at Parker Brothers Games.
A dedicated family man, Santo cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed being home surrounded by his family, watching sports as he was truly an avid Boston sports fan. He enjoyed working puzzles, playing card games showing his love for a good challenge. He will be forever remembered for his gentle down-to-earth demeanor that endeared him to many, his deep love for family and will be deeply missed by his loving family, friends, and the hearts he touched along the way.
Surviving Santo in addition to his wife Cynthia with whom he shared 51 years of marriage is his son, Santo F. Calabro II and his wife Shauna Lafond of Manchester, NH, his grandchildren, Jessica, Shawn, Josh and Thomas Laber, and Joseph, Jacob, Jordan, Jackson and Julia Calabro, his great-grandsons, David Jaime III, Sammy and Shawn Santo, his brother Guy Calabro and his wife Susan Calabro and their children Amy, Michael, and Beth. He was also the father of the late Brenda L. Laber.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service which will be held in O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq. (at Salem Common) SALEM on Monday, May 6th, 2024 at 11:30 A.M. Visiting hours prior to the service from 9 to 11 A.M. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
