SALEM – Mr. Scott William MacRae, beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away Saturday, September 24th. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Bruce W. and Mary P. (Gilbride) MacRae.
Mr. MacRae was raised and educated in Salem, attending and graduating from Salem High School before going on to obtain his bachelor's degree in Industrial Arts from Fitchburg State University. Scott had a talent for creating and grew to become a project manager for Lehrer Cumming, a construction group, most recently working on a large project for Amazon.
Scott enjoyed the simplicities of life and could often be found outside on his porch surrounded by nature and his love for the water. He enjoyed taking vacations across the country as well as two trips to Ireland with his son, Tyler. A true Irishman, Scott embraced his Celtic culture. He was passionate about skiing, music, and attending concerts with Tyler and his brother Bruce.
Scott is survived by his son Tyler MacRae of Salem, his brother Bruce MacRae and his wife Lisa of Danvers, along with brothers Glenn MacRae and his wife Jackie and Stephen MacRae and his wife Robin, and nephews Ethan, Collin, Justin, and Michael.
ARRANGEMENTS – Relatives and friends are invited to Scott's funeral service which will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM on Tuesday, October 4th, at 5:15 P.M. Visiting hours on Tuesday, October 4th from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Scott's memory to American Heart Association.
