Middleton-Mrs. Sharon Ann (Ahern) Francis 64, of Middleton, beloved wife of Peter B. Francis, died March 8, 2014, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late William and Lois (Cleaves) Ahern.

She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of St. James Grammar School and the St. James Girl's High School. Mrs. Francis continued her education and was a graduate of Essex Agricultural and Training School, receiving her degree in Nursing.

A caring and dedicated nurse, for more than 25 years, Sharon had been employed by the Hogan Regional Center, Danvers until the time of her retirement.

A resident of the town of Middleton for over 35 years, Sharon enjoyed cooking for her family and hosting numerous cook-outs in the back yard. She loved planning and going on the many family trips to Disney World, and was an avid Red Sox fan. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Sharon's greatest joy was being a young grandmother to her beloved granddaughter Kaylee. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her loving husband of 43 years, Sharon is survived by her daughter Kim Knight and her husband Eric of Danvers and granddaughter Kaylee Knight.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service which will be held in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (Rte 62) Danvers, Thursday March 13, at 11 A.M.
