HOOKSETT, N.H. - Mr. Sheldon T. Green 90, of Hooksett, N.H., formerly a long-time resident of the Town of Hamilton, beloved husband of the late Barbara (Robicheau) Green, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, June 25, 2019 following a motor vehicle accident. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Theodore O. and Jenny L. (Cloutman) Green. He was raised and educated in Lynn and Danvers. An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Green was a noble and hardworking man. He spent over 36 years with the former United Shoe Machine Corporation in the manufacturing division until the time of his retirement in 1991. He was dedicated to his profession and enjoyed the camaraderie of his fellow employees.
A man dedicated to family, faith and community, Sheldon lived for many years in the Town of Hamilton before recently moving to Hooksett, N.H where he loved and was loved by his new community. He is an active and devoted member of the New Life Community Church in Georgetown. He was active in many of the church facets. He volunteered at the food pantry, lead vacation bible school, supported many missions and attended services weekly. He is one of the most revered members of the church for his devotion to his love of God and his fellow man.
A sense of humor that could make the most depressed person smile, Sheldon loved to laugh and it was contagious. He made friends easily and often and constantly gave of himself, in time, finances and love. He truly had the gift of gab and endeared himself to almost everyone whom was lucky enough to cross his path. He was an avid, old school Boston Red Sox fan, enjoyed woodworking, making model planes and cars, was an automobile aficionado and found a great passion for traveling with his daughter throughout much of the continental US. He was an old school gentleman who put himself out to live life to the fullest, in he helped all those in need and always took great pleasure in putting a smile on the face of others. He was devoted to his wife and family and will be deeply missed. Sheldon is survived by his daughters, Lori Green of Hooksett, N.H., and Leslie Spurr and her husband Al, his son, Paul Green of Ipswich, his granddaughter, Sarah Spurr, his sister Ronda Kelloway and her husband Randy of Wales, ME and many loving nieces and nephews, who adored him and saw him as a true hero. He was the brother of the late Robert, Oris and Earl and Patricia Green.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service which will be held in the New Life Community Church, 186 East Main St., Georgetown, Monday, July 1st, at 11 A.M. A reception will follow in his honor. Burial in Hamilton Cemetery. Visiting hours omitted. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sheldon's Memory to New Life Community Church, 186 E. Main St., Georgetown, MA 01833.
