SALEM -Siria Castillo, 91, of Salem, beloved wife of the late Marino Anibal Sosa, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Care One Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Beverly with her loving family by her side.
Born in Bani, Dominican Republic she was the daughter of the late Casimiro Castillo and Maria Engracia Guerrero, she was raised and educated in Bani and immigrated to the United States in 1987 where she settled in Salem, MA.
Having worked diligently in the Housekeeping Department of the Sheraton Hotel and later at Rosewood Nursing Center, Siria was known for her tireless work ethic and dedication to her family. She took great pride in her role as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, finding joy in being surrounded by her family and celebrating their milestones. Siria enjoyed sitting and having coffee with family and friends and looked forward to her trips to the salon to have her hair done or for a relaxing "Mani/Pedi". Siria will be deeply missed by family and friends but will forever be remembered as the amazing matriarch who will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Surviving Siria are her daughters, Tania Sosa of Salem and Brigida Griselda Castillo of Santo Domingo, her grandchildren, Alexander Nunez, Saray Nunez, Siara Nunez, Elaine Nunez, Fanny Ramirez, Tania Tavares and Frederick Ramirez, her 20 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was also the mother of the late Manuel Casimiro Castillo.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to her visiting hours which will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) Salem on Friday, June 21, 2024 from 5-8 P.M. A graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery on Saturday, June 22nd at 11A.M. Please meet at the cemetery. SALEM - Siria Castillo, de 91 años, de Salem, amada esposa del fallecido Marino Aníbal Sosa, falleció pacíficamente el martes 18 de junio de 2024 en el Centro de Enfermería y Rehabilitación Care One en Beverly con su amada familia a su lado.
Nacida en Bani, República Dominicana, era hija del fallecido Casimiro Castillo y María Engracia Guerrero, se crió y educó en Bani y emigró a los Estados Unidos en 1987, donde se estableció en Salem, MA.
Habiendo trabajado diligentemente en el Departamento de Limpieza del Hotel Sheraton y más tarde en el Centro de Enfermería Rosewood, Siria era conocida por su incansable ética de trabajo y dedicación a su familia. Se enorgullecía mucho de su papel como madre, abuela, bisabuela y tatarabuela, y encontraba alegría al estar rodeada de su familia y celebrar sus hitos. Siria disfrutaba sentarse y tomar un café con familiares y amigos y esperaba con ansias sus viajes al salón para arreglarse el cabello o para una relajante "Mani/Pedi". Familiares y amigos extrañarán profundamente a Siria, pero siempre será recordada como la increíble matriarca que vivirá en los corazones de todos los que la conocieron.
Sobreviven a Siria sus hijas, Tania Sosa de Salem y Brigida Griselda Castillo de Santo Domingo, sus nietos, Alexander Núñez, Saray Núñez, Siara Núñez, Elaine Núñez, Fanny Ramírez, Tania Tavares y Frederick Ramírez, sus 20 bisnietos y 5 tataranietos. -bisnietos. También fue madre del fallecido Manuel Casimiro Castillo.
ARREGLOS: Familiares y amigos están invitados a su horario de visita que se llevará a cabo en O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (en Salem Common) Salem el viernes 21 de junio de 2024 de 5 a 8 p.m. Se llevará a cabo un servicio junto a la tumba en el cementerio de Greenlawn el sábado 22 de junio a las 11 a.m. Reúnase en el cementerio.
