TOPSFIELD - Mr. Stephen E. Woodbury 93, of Topsfield, beloved husband of the late Virginia M. (Grace) Woodbury, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29th, 2026 at Masconomet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Topsfield.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Robert and Marjorie (Dana) Woodbury. He was raised and educated in Topsfield and was a graduate of Topsfield High School.
An honorably discharged veteran, Stephen proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict attaining the rank of Sergeant.
As a young man Stephen took over the family business, Woodbury Fuel Company, from his father. For over 30 years, he devoted himself to his customers, earning their trust through his unwavering work ethic, dependability, and integrity.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Stephen was devoted to his family. He worked hard every day to support them and provide for them. He loved being involved in his family’s many activities and celebrating their many milestones. Stephen was kind, loyal and sweet; he lovingly took care of his beloved Virginia and was by her side throughout her illness.

He was a proud member of both the Boston Bruins “Gallery Gods” and the Red Sox “Bleacher Creatures”. He was an avid skier, aviator and private pilot.
