NEW YORK, NEW YORK - Suzanne Varney born Dec. 21st 1936 died April 3rd 2018. Survived by sons, Nicholas, Seamus, and Sebastian Varney, grandson, Bowie, daughter-in-law, Victoria Bratberg, sister, Helene Lickdyke and former husband, Carleton Varney. Suzanne served as Co-Founder, President and Owner of the textile and wallcovering firm Carleton V Ltd. from 1973 until 2004. Her greatest passion was being a mother to her three boys, all the while building and focusing on the success of her business. She had a magical and brilliant smile, a quick wit and a true confidence about her and was a woman of boundless grace and poise. "She was a great force in that showroom. She was amazing and beautiful, yet very serious" - designer Mario Buatta recalled. Above all her countless accomplishments and her wonderful qualities, her love and devotion to her sons was unparalleled. Her passing leaves the greatest of voids, yet her memory and talents live on through her life's work and especially through her children. A memorial service will take place in the fall.
