Obituary

MIDDLETON - Mrs. Sylvia K. Warman 90, of Middleton, beloved wife of Richard G. Warman, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 23rd, 2025 at her home, with her loving husband by her side.

Born in Peabody, MA, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Agnes (Orgettis) Kostoplos. She was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School. Sylvia continued her education, concentrating on secretarial and business courses.

Sylvia embarked on a successful career in bookkeeping first at the family tannery business, MK Express, where she worked for several years. Sylvia had an impressive reputation for her strong work ethic and attention to detail and was highly recommended by her peers. Later, she worked at Temple Beth El in Swampscott for over 18 years, until the time of her retirement.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Sylvia was truly happiest creating a warm and loving home for her family. She found true joy in dancing, preparing delicious meals, and sharing moments with loved ones. Her love for family was matched only by her zest for life. She was known for her outgoing spirit, her circle of friends that she enjoyed the competition and camaraderie of a good Bridge game. She was an active member of the Middleton Senior Center where she made many dear friends. Sylvia will be forever remembered for her legacy of love and kindness and deeply missed by her loving family and many friends.

Surviving Sylvia, in addition to her husband Richard of Middleton, are her sons, James Orfanos and wife, Renee of El Paso, TX and Michael Orfanos of Parkland, FL, her daughter, Elaine Dunn of Middleton, her sister, Deborah Voulgarakis and husband, Jim of NY, her 13 grandchildren, Allissa, Trista, Amanda, Jaeme, Jolie, Madison, Marcus, Kamila, Magnus, Danny and Edju, her 13 great-grandchildren, Lillian, Daryian, Winter, Raiden, Athena, Ares, Max Henry, Owen, Ruth, Rose, Emersyn and Ella, and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Paul and Nick Kostoplos.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours which will be held at O'Donnell Cremations - Funerals - Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (Rte 62) DANVERS, Thursday, Jan 30th from 4 to 7 PM. Her funeral will be held from O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) DANVERS on Friday, January 31st at 9 AM followed by her funeral service at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church,  5 Paleologos St., PEABODY at 10 AM. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, SALEM. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Sylvia's memory to the First Baptist Church, 292 Lafayette St., Salem, MA 01970.
