IPSWICH – Mrs. Teresa Iovanella, 71 of Ipswich and the loving wife of Nicholas L. Jacobellis, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 6th at Beverly Hospital with her family and friends by her side after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Beverly, Massachusetts she was the daughter of the late Saverio “Henry” and Mary (Marciano) Iovanella. Teresa was raised and educated in Topsfield, graduating from Masconomet High School in 1972, continuing her education at Northeastern University where she earned her bachelor’s degree and her graduate degree in Management from Lesly College.
Teresa devoted her life to her career and was extremely proud of her professional developments and connections. She started her working career in 1985 and would devote over 40 years in the avionics, space and telecommunication industry. First starting her career as an electronics buyer for production at ELBIT / Inframetrics, Teresa would matriculate to Senior Buyer and Planner for AMETEK Aerospace and later the Commodity Manager for Comverse Technology. For the last 21 years, she held the position of Senior Commodity Manager for Microchip in Beverly, working alongside a team of people she loved.
Aside from her career, Teresa loved to be with her family. She was a devoted daughter, loving niece, exceptional wife, dependable sister and aunt and true and loyal friend. She had a heart of gold who loved to dance, shop and go out to eat. She enjoyed travelling to many places, often with her beloved husband Nicholas or her dear aunt Grace, visiting warm places including the Dominican Republic, Las Vegas, Texas and Florida. Teresa will be remembered as a woman of simplicity and grace. She kept a positive outlook and was a fighter throughout her entire illness, always kept the faith of winning. May her memory be eternal in all the hearts she touched, she will be deeply missed by all.
In addition to her beloved husband Nicholas, with whom she has shared 31 years of marriage, Teresa is survived by her brothers, Frank Iovanella of Topsfield and John Iovanella and his wife, Kimberly of North Andover; her beloved nieces and nephews, Gregory Iovanella and his wife, Kristen and their children, Dominic, Carmelo and Gabriella all of South Hamilton and Angela Kasumova and her husband, Elshad and their children, Alexander and Emil of Andover; her beloved aunt, Grace Marciano of Ipswich; and Nick’s children, Natalie Talas and her husband, Ronnie and their children, Moutaz and Julius all of Miami, FL; Nicholas Jacobellis and his wife, Caroline and their children, Nicholas and Claudia all of Miami; and Lisa Caputo and her husband, Richard and their children, Ryan and Thomas all of Doylestown, PA and many other extended and loving family members, including her soul sisters, Marilyn Washington and Murium Hector and many dear and loving friends, including her coworkers.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to Teresa’s funeral Mass which will be held at Our Lady of Hope Parish, 1 Pineswamp Road, Ipswich on Saturday, December 13th at 10 A.M. with her burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Topsfield. (Please meet directly at the church). Visiting hours will be held at O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) DANVERS on Friday, December 12th from 4 to 7 P.M.
