IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas F.
Lawlor, Jr.
July 3, 1957 – December 6, 2023
DANVERS – Thomas F. Lawlor, Jr., 66, of Danvers, passed away at home on December 6th, 2023 after a hard fought battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Linda (Lanza) Lawlor.
Thomas was born on July 3rd,1957 in Boston, and raised in Dorchester, MA. He was the son of the late Thomas and Lorraine Lawlor. Tom graduated from Cathedral High School in Boston in 1975. He then went on to receive his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Northeastern University.
His first job in construction was working with his father on the Mass General Hospital. He worked as a construction superintendent for over 40 years. Tom was a hard worker, still working full time up until his illness. Some of his projects included the Reebok Corporate Headquarters, multiple airport terminals, pharmaceutical laboratories, the Mission Main housing project, and more. Even though he worked on many impressive projects, his proudest accomplishments by far were building his family home, and a memorial playground at Thorpe School in Danvers for his late son Brian.
Tom was always willing to help anyone who called, and took great pride in helping his family. He was the first to show up if you needed something fixed, and never expected anything in return. He was most happy being at home with his family, and was looking forward to spending more time with his grandkids. They were a source of immense pride and joy to him, and he was excited to teach them woodworking, and watch their favorite family movies together.
In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by his children, Thomas Lawlor, Christine Oak and her husband, Ryan, Marie McKenna and her husband, Jeffrey, and Anthony Lawlor. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Brian Lawlor.
He was a cherished grandfather to Cullin, Cole and Sadie Oak and Reese McKenna. He is also survived lovingly by his sisters, Diane Giardina, Therese Fitzgerald, and his brother, Patrick Lawlor, as well as his mother-in-law, Marie Lanza. Thomas also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins.
