HAVERHILL - Timothy D. Byrnes, of Haverhill, MA, formerly of Peabody, passed away at home on March 30, 2026. He was the beloved son of the late Robert and Arline (McKenna) Byrnes of Peabody, where he graduated from Peabody High School Class of 1991.
Timothy had a way of filling a room the moment he walked in — with a warmth and energy that was entirely his own. His sense of humor was one of his greatest gifts — the kind that could light up a room and leave everyone around him smiling long after the moment had passed.
Timothy dedicated his life to the automobile industry, a world he understood and took pride in. He found comfort and strength in routine, and in the kitchen, he truly shined — cooking with care and skill that turned every meal into something special for his family and friends.
More than anything, Timothy lived for summer days at the lake in Meredith, NH. It was his sanctuary — the one place that could pull him away from work without a second thought. He cherished every moment spent there with family. Casting a line off the dock or a nearby bridge, the water quiet and the world at ease. When he went to the lake, he walked into the house with a bag full of movies that he loved and couldn’t wait to share with all of his loved ones and friends. He went deep in his movie collection — over 1,000 DVDs, many purchased the day they hit shelves. Action films were his go-to, but his heart belonged to “The Secret Life of Pets,” a choice that said everything about the tenderness he carried inside. He leaves behind his beloved cat, Puss, a fitting companion for a man whose love for animals ran deep and true.
In addition to his parents, Timothy is survived by his sisters Christine Dempsey of Danvers, Karen and her husband Bradford Rost of Byfield, his brothers Robert Byrnes Jr. of Spokane, WA, and Kevin Byrnes of Danvers; nieces and nephews Shauna, Riley, Terena and Liam; his stepson and pride and joy Kyle Ambrose of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and his former wife and friend Suzanne. He was predeceased by his brothers Stephen Byrnes Sr., Shawn Byrnes, and his sister-in-law, Kimberly (Rubchinuk) Byrnes.
