Obituary

MIDDLETON – Mrs. Tynne (Rubchinuk) Sweeney, 73, passed away on Monday, January 9th, 2023 with her sons by her side.

Born in Beverly, in May 1949, she was the daughter of the late John and Enid (Davis) Rubchinuk. Tynne was the wife of Bernard Sweeney with whom she celebrated 43 years of marriage before his passing in 2018.

Mrs. Sweeney graduated from Masconomet Regional High School in 1967 before obtaining her Associate's Degree in Nursing from Northshore Community College. A longtime local resident, Tynne went on to work for the Town of Middleton for over 30 years as their Food Service Director.

Tynne's true passion was family and friends with whom she loved to travel. She enjoyed spending time in her garden and spreading that love through her canning which she would share with everyone. She especially loved her cats throughout the years. In the summer of 1971 while visiting New Hampshire, she met the love of her life, Bernie. She enjoyed camping, fishing, quilting and gardening. She and her family made many memories around the campfires and cookouts in which they shared throughout the years. Tynne was as much of an artist as she was a loving mother, sister and wife as well as aunt, cousin and friend. She won numerous awards at the Topsfield Fair throughout the years including quilting and creating Ukrainian Pysanky Eggs. Through her many talents, nothing shone more brightly than raising her family. Above her entry door reads "Come to our house for a week or a day. Come to our house and don't go away."

Tynne is survived by her sons; Stephen Sweeney and Patrick Sweeney of Middleton, and her sisters; Lora Marcaurelle and her husband Roy of West Newbury, and Jeanne Riddle of Middleton. She has many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her selflessness and love will be dearly missed.
