LYNN - Mr. Valentin Vasquez Jr., 60 of Lynn, formerly of Salem, passed away on December 13th, 2025, at Salem hospital following a brief illness.
Born on August 12, 1965, in New York, New York, he was the son of the late Valentin Vasquez Sr., and Alejandrina Santiago. he moved to Salem at the age of 3 and made the North Shore his forever home. He was a long-time resident of Salem, before more recently making his home in Lynn. Valentin will be remembered for his infectious humor and kind-hearted spirit, which he shared generously with everyone he encountered.
He dedicated over eight years as the general manager at the Taco Bell location on Boston Street in Lynn, having previously spent many years with the Wendy's corporation. Most recently, he was employed at Walmart on Highland Avenue until the time of his illness. Valentin's work ethic and dedication to his jobs were admired by those who knew him.
Raised and educated in Salem, Valentin was a proud graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1983. He later attended North Shore Community College, continuing his education. An ardent supporter of the Boston Red Sox, he loved engaging in conversations about baseball, a sport that held a special place in his heart.
Valentin had a remarkable ability to bring joy to those around him. He was a cherished brother and uncle, and he loved making people laugh and smile. His family will always remember him as someone who enjoyed helping others and spreading happiness wherever he went. His adventurous spirit also led him to travel extensively, including a memorable visit to Graceland, where he delighted in all things Elvis Presley, whose music and style he truly enjoyed.
Valentin is survived by his siblings: Luz Coronel, Juan Baez Jr., Nilsa Vasquez, and Henry Garcia. He is also lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews: Angel, Solmaria, Natalia, Christian, Michael, Amanda, and Isabella.
Valentin Vasquez Jr. leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for life. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
ARRANGEMENTS: His graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery, Orne St., Salem, Wednesday, December 31st, 2025 at 12 noon. Relatives and friends are invited to meet at the main gate of the cemetery at 11:45 A.M.
