LYNN – Vera Alicia Ruiz, 68, of Lynn, passed away unexpectedly at her home on August 5th, 2025. Born in Santa Ana, El Salvador she was the daughter of the late Jorge Alfredo Ruiz and Carmen Velasquez.

Vera was raised and educated in Glendale, California, and proudly graduated from Glendale High School. In time, she made her way to Lynn, where she built a full and loving life and called home for many years.

Vera worked as a dedicated housekeeper at the Hilton Hotel until her well-earned retirement. Known for her vibrant personality and deep love for her family, Vera was happiest when surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Whether sharing stories, laughter, or a meal, she made every moment feel special.

A fantastic cook, Vera was famous for her carne asada, taquitos, and a wide array of delicious Salvadoran dishes. Her home was always filled with the comforting aroma of her cooking — and more often than not, the sound of laughter and the clink of an ice-cold Michelob Ultra, her drink of choice.

Vera's legacy lives on through the countless memories she made and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Vera is predeceased by her father, Jorge Alfredo Ruiz. She leaves behind, her sons, Carlos Ruiz and his wife, Lori Dossett of Salisbury, and Jose Tovar of Lynn, her daughter, Nancy Hernandez and her husband, Armando of Dallas, Texas, her mother, Carmen Velasquez of California, her siblings, Blanca Rivera and her husband, Alex of Florida, Ana and Hernando Avilez, Wilfredo and Rosita Ruiz, and Anajulia, all from California, her grandchildren, Carlos, Veronica, Priscilla, Maria, Kendra, Natahlia, Arianna, and Jayden, and many nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service for Vera which will be held at O'Donnell Cremations - Funerals - Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM, on Wednesday, August 13th, 2025 at 2 P.M..
