Obituary

LYNNFIELD – Mr. Vincent A. Blandino, 95, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 28th, 2023.

Born in Boston, he was the beloved son of James and Constance (D'Augusta) Blandino. Vincent was the loving husband of Mildred (Puopolo) Blandino, with whom he celebrated 71 years of marriage

He was the father of 3 daughters: Deborah (Blandino) Rogan and her husband, Joseph of Lynnfield, MA, Cheryl Blandino of Lynnfield, MA, and Lauren (Blandino) Cote of Danvers, MA.

Vinny was the brother of Joanne (Blandino) Morency and her husband, Paul Morency, and James Blandino III.  He was also the uncle of Linda Blandino and James Blandino IV and his wife Mary, and many other nieces and nephews who Vinny loved being with, especially when the deck of cards came out.

He was the loving grandfather of 5 including Nicole (Cote) Aldi and her husband, Mike, Joseph Cote, Daniel Cote, Jonathan Rogan, and Elizabeth Rogan.  He was also the loving great-grandfather of 3, Mila Aldi, Michael Aldi, and Viviana Aldi.

Vinny graduated with high honors from Medford High School and Tufts University in Mechanical Engineering. He enlisted in the United States Army during WWII and was stationed in Japan until his honorable discharge coming home to marry Milly and start his family and career as an engineer. His accolades in the design and application of defense and reentry space systems at GE Aircraft Engines, Avco, and Textron, Inc. set the stage for next-generation designs.

Although Vinny was an accomplished engineer there was no greater passion he had than for his wife Milly and his family. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his singular focus to be present with them and to live life to the fullest in all the activities each one had. His love, generosity, encouragement, and wisdom cannot be overstated. Vinny was admired and respected by all who knew him. Humility, humor, and a frequent smile were always there to be had wherever with Vinny.

His faith in Jesus Christ was foundational in his life and he lived it every day by serving and loving those around him unselfishly.  His legacy as a man of honor is one to emulate.  Vincent was the perfect example and model of how a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather should be.

We are so fortunate to have had Vinny in our lives and the many happy memories we all shared. We will miss him terribly and will never forget him.
