Obituary

BEVERLY - Mrs. Vincenzina "Vinnie" (DiFalco) Cavanaugh, 85 of Beverly, the loving wife of late John J. Cavanaugh, passed away unexpectedly on December 16th, 2024 at Beverly Hospital.

Born and raised in Italy, Vinnie was the daughter of late Gaetano and Pasqualina (D'Uva) DiFalco. In 1954 at the age of 16, she came over to the United States and became a resident of Beverly ever since. She obtained her GED in the 70's and worked for Beverly Nursing Home as a Nurses Aid. She also worked at Market Basket in Danvers for 10 years but was known best as for her diligent volunteer work.

Vinnie had an affinity for volunteerism, especially for veterans. She was an active member of the VFW Post 1524 in Salem – for many years. Her daughters recall being "drafted" into these duties at the age of 16. Vinnie was the past president of the Lady Auxiliary Post and participated in the State Color Guard. She regularly contributed her down time to the Beverly Senior Center. Vinnie's vivacious energy and dedication to others will be cherished by those who were graced with her presence.

Surviving Vinnie are her two daughters, Ellen Krenzel and her husband, Donald of Beverly and Rita Budrow of Rockport, along with her grandchildren, Paul Budrow Jr. and his wife, Gisel, Courtney Krenzel, Frank Dolley and his wife, Joyce and John Burke, 6 step-grandchildren and her great-grandchildren Aubrey Budrow, Deegan Budrow, McKenzie Cherry, Jaxson Dolley, Ava Dolley, Lincoln Burke, as well as 7 step great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband John, Vinnie was predeceased by her 4 step-children, John Cavanaugh Jr., Guy Cavanaugh, Carol Cavanaugh and Sheila Burke; her son-in-law, Paul Budrow, and her sister, Josephine Crudele.
