SALEM – La Sra. Virtudes Bautista, de 88 años y residente de Salem, falleció el jueves 12 de febrero de 2026 en el Hospital de Salem, con su familia a su lado.
Nacida el Día de Todos los Santos en San Juan de la Maguana, República Dominicana, fue hija del fallecido Félix y Viviana Bautista. Creció y recibió su educación en la República Dominicana, donde vivió hasta principios de los años 90, cuando emigró a Estados Unidos, haciendo de Salem su hogar de toda la vida.
En la República Dominicana, Virtudes crió a sus hijos y desarrolló su carrera profesional como maestra, guiando y apoyando a los niños. Amaba a todos los niños y en Estados Unidos cuidó a muchos niños en el vecindario el Punto. Era confiable, respetada y muy querida dentro de la comunidad de Salem.
Virtudes era profundamente devota a su fe y fue miembro durante mucho tiempo de la Iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepción en Salem, donde participaba activamente en el grupo de oración. A Virtudes le encantaba escuchar música todo el tiempo, pasando tiempo con su familia, especialmente en reuniones familiares y viendo las noticias y telenovelas. Por encima de todo, a Virtudes le encantaba la oración y compartir su fe. Todos los que la conocieron la extrañarán.
Le sobreviven sus hijas, Virtudes Florentino de Salem y Bienvenida Florentino de Salem; su nuera, Melise Rosario de Fulcar de Boston; sus 14 nietos y muchos bisnietos; sus hermanos, Lucas, Diógenes, Exiquio y Roman Fulcar, Jose Manuel, Dionisio, Tito y Gladys Bautista y varios sobrinos y sobrinas. Virtudes fue precedida en la muerte por su amado hijo, Robert Fulcar.
ARREGLOS: Se invita a familiares y amigos a la misa funeral de Virtudes que se celebrará en la Iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepción, Hawthorne Blvd., Salem, el miércoles 18 de febrero a las 11 A.M., seguida de su entierro en el Cementerio Greenlawn, Salem. Las horas de visita se llevarán a cabo en O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (en Salem Common) Salem, el martes 17 de febrero de 4 a 8 P.M. Virtudes Bautista

SALEM – Ms. Virtudes Bautista, 88 of Salem, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Salem Hospital with her family by her side.
Born on All Saints Day in San Juan de la Maguana, Dominican Republic, she was the daughter of the late Felix and Viviana Bautista. She was raised and educated in the Dominican Republic and lived there until the early 90’s, until immigrating to the United States, making Salem her life lifelong home.
In the Dominican Republic, Virtudes raised her children and spent her working career as a teacher, mentoring and supporting children. She loved all kids and in the United States would care for many children throughout the Point neighborhood. She was trusted, respected and well loved withing the Salem Community.
Virtudes was deeply devoted to her faith and a longtime member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Salem where she was actively involved in the prayer group. Virtudes loved listening to music all the time, spending time with her family, especially at family reunions and watching the news and soap operas. Above all else, Virtudes loved prayer and sharing her faith. She will be missed by all who know her.
She is survived by her daughters, Virtudes Florentino of Salem and Bienvenida Florentino of Salem; daughter-in-law, Melise Rosario de Fulcar of Boston; her 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; her brothers, Lucas, Diogenes, Exiquio and Roman Fulcar, Jose Manuel, Dionisio, Tito and Gladys Bautista and several nieces and nephews. Virtudes was predeceased by her beloved son, Robert Fulcar.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to Virtudes’ funeral Mass which will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church, Hawthorne Blvd., Salem on Wednesday, February 18th at 11 A.M. with her burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours will be held at O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM on Tuesday, February 17th from 4 to 8 P.M.
