IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wallace L.
"Wally" Pennell
December 9, 1935 – June 25, 2023
DANVERS – Mr. Wallace "Wally" Pennell, 87 of Danvers, loving husband of the late Betty (Nelson) Pennell passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 25th, 2023 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Beverly, Wally was the son of the late Leslie E. and Helen (Hanson) Pennell. He was raised and educated in Danvers, graduating from Holten Richmond High School in 1953. Following his return from the military, Wally continued his education at Northeastern University where he received his bachelor's degree in Business.
An honorably discharged veteran, Wally proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War era.
A genuine, hardworking man, Wally dedicated his professional career working in the refrigerated transportation business. For many years, he worked alongside businesses handling transportation shipments as a logistic traffic manager and later, Wally owned and operated his own logistics company known as CTW Transport in Peabody.
Wally loved the simple things in life. He was truly happiest when with his family, especially his grandchildren and truly cherished upkeeping his home, sitting on his porch and gardening. He was a 50-year member and a Master Mason of the Amity-Mosaic Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Danvers and delighted in the brotherhood and friendships he established. Anyone who knew Wally, loved him and he will be greatly missed by many.
Surviving Wally are his daughter, Kris Neary of Methuen and Richie Leblanc with a bloody mary always available; his son, Eric Pennell of Rowley and Marcia Wessell with a bottle of red wine always waiting; his beloved grandchildren, Dan Neary and Holly Emro, and Ashley Turner-Pennell; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and dear friends. Wally was the brother of the late Emilie Leman and William Pitreau.
