PEABODY – Mr. Warren Francis Rogers, 92, of Peabody and Chatham, MA, beloved husband of Winifred (Lewis) Rogers, died peacefully on October 13th, 2026, at Beverly Hospital.

Born in Chatham, he was the son of the late Flavius and Sadie (Bassett) Rogers. He was raised and educated in Chatham and was a graduate of Chatham High School.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Air Force.

Mr. Rogers was a resident of Chatham for over 70 years. He was employed for over 25 years as a custodian in the Chatham School System, where he was beloved throughout the community by the students. A humble, sincere, and genuine person, Warren was ever-present in the lives of the students—from opening the gym after school hours so they could practice to offering his daily well-wishes as they headed home. He was always there to lend a helping hand of support.

Warren attended the Brewster Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church of Salem; his faith was an important part of his life.

On May 22, 2004, he married Winifred Lewis and moved to Peabody, where he spent the rest of his 92 years. During that time, he became a crossing guard at the Bowditch School in Salem, once again dedicating his efforts to children. Warren loved golfing, landscaping, children, putting puzzles together, people-watching, the Topsfield Fair, and taking scenic drives along Lynn Shore Drive and the Nahant Causeway. He enjoyed a leisurely retirement watching backyard wildlife, visiting Chatham in the summer, and walking Harding's Beach with his beloved wife.

Throughout his life, he was an avid sports fan, especially baseball. His annual family tradition of attending games at Boston sporting events with his sons and their friends became a cherished memory for many. His last visit to Fenway Park was on his 90th birthday, an experience that brought him immense joy.

Warren was a quiet man with a quick wit and an easy smile, touching many hearts along his life’s journey. He embodied all the best characteristics of the Greatest Generation: he was humble, hardworking, strong, brave, loving and, above all, kind.

Warren is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Winifred (Lewis) Rogers of Peabody; his son, Paul Rogers (Christine) of Chatham; his grandchildren, William, Katie, and Timothy; and several great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Larry Rogers, his brother, Flavius Rogers, and his sister, Eleanor Livingston.
