Danvers-Mr. William G. Donahue, 81, of Danvers, beloved husband of Jean (Engstrom) Donahue, died Saturday January 31, 2015 in Beverly Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Beverly he was the son of the late Leo and Elizabeth (Donahue) Donahue. He was raised and educated in Beverly and Swampscott.

An honorably discharged veteran he served his country during the Korean War as a member of the United States Air Force having earned the rank of Airman Second Class.

Bill had been employed for the United States Postal Service for over 30 years, until the time of his retirement, retiring as a postal clerk.

A devoted husband and family man, his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, especially attending their many activities. A resident of the Town of Danvers since 1958 he was an avid sports fan, chess player, reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.

In addition to his wife Jean, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage, he is survived by two daughters, Kelly Donahue of Honolulu, Hawaii and Kathleen and her husband David Kelly of Danvers, two sons, James Donahue and his partner Kristine Farley of Danvers, and Michael Donahue of Honolulu, Hawaii, seven grandchildren, Daniel McKenna and his wife Crystal, Michael McKenna, Ryan Farley, Conor Kelly, Devlyn Kelly, Kaelyn Kelly and Amanda Donahue and several nieces and nephews. He was also father of the late Timothy Donahue and brother of the late Robert "Bullet" Donahue and Maureen DeAngelis.

ARRANGEMENTS: His Funeral Service will be held in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple Street (Rte 62), Danvers, Saturday Feb 7th , 2015 at 11 am. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Friday, Feb 6th from 4 to 7pm.
