William Charles
Foustoukos
November 17, 1923 – October 14, 2022
SALEM, MA - Mr. William C. Foustoukos, 98 of Salem, MA, recently of Salisbury, MA, beloved husband of the late Stella (Nekolopoulos) Foustoukos, passed away peacefully at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, with his loving family by his side.
Born in Danvers, he was the son of the late Theordore and Helen (Tzelikis) Foustoukos. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School.
An honorably discharged veteran, Mr. Foustoukos proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during World War II where he received several medals and commendations for his brave service.
Following his discharge from the Navy, William had been employed as a machinist at Hood Yacht System in Marblehead for 20 years and later Dion's Boatyard in Salem for over 24 years. William was a talented Mast maker and was instrumental in building masts for boats racing in the America Cup and the Freedom Schooner in Salem.
Devoted to his faith, William has been an active member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody, where he and his wife Stella attend services for many years. A man of many talents, William liked to keep his mind sharp, doing crossword puzzles, reading, sudoku puzzles and playing along with Jeopardy. He was well versed on many subjects and always encouraged others to be lifelong learners. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather who will be deeply missed by his dedicated and supportive family and all the lives he touched throughout his life.
Surviving William are his son, Theodore Foustoukos and his partner, Holly Gagne of Salisbury, MA and his daughter, Christine Anderson, and her husband, Steve of York, ME, his 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Ellen Ann Needham of Clovis, NM.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held from O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) DANVERS on Wednesday, October 26th at 9 A.M. followed by his funeral Mass in St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 5 Paleologos St., Peabody at 10 A.M. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours in the funeral home on Tuesday, October 25th from 4 to 7 P.M.
