SALEM - Mr. William Joseph McCormack 43, of Salem, died surrounded by his family and friends, November 2, 2017 at Salem Hospital. Born in Cambridge, he was the son of Michele B. (Whittaker) McCormack and the late John Leslie McCormack. He was raised and educated in Somerville and Salem. He was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1993. Mr. McCormack had been employed in the construction and carpentry field where he was known as a jack of all trades. He was very skilled in carpentry and had been associated with many Construction Companies over the years. A long-time resident of the City of Salem, William was an avid Boston Sports fan who truly enjoyed rooting on his beloved Patriots, Bruins, Red Sox and Celtics. As a younger man he was an athlete, playing baseball for Salem High School and he continued his love of competitive sports by competing in the men's softball league in Peabody for many years. He enjoyed spending his time with friends and family, from playing video games to solving the problems of the world around a camp fire, Bill was always ready for fun. He loved his children deeply and will always be remembered as a loving father, son, brother, brother-in-law and loyal friend. He will be deeply missed. William is survived by his mother, Michele B. (Whittaker) McCormack of Salem, his daughter Tori McCormack of Ossipee, N.H. and her mother, Danni Tassinari, his son, Conor William McCormack of Salem and his mother, Cheryl Caswell, his grandchildren, Georgia and Maverick McCormack, his sister, Allyson McCormack and David Raymond of Salem, his brother, Brian McCormack and his wife Lesly of Peabody, his nieces, Abigail, Paisley and Charlotte and many dear longtime friends including, Mikey, Weeks and Aidan.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in The O'Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) Salem, Wednesday, Nov. 8th from 4 to 6:30 P.M. All other services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in William's memory to Care Dimension, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923 or to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Salem, 29 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970.
