SALEM - Mr. William "Bill" Phelan born on July 18, 1958, and passed away on December 20th, 2022, at the age of 64.

Born in Salem, he was the loving son of the late Howard P. and Ruth (Collins) Phelan. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School.

Bill had been employed for over 20 years as a Security Guard at Shetland Industrial Park in Salem, first for the Lappin family and then later for Prime Storage Group. His inherent nature was to help others, guiding visitors through the maze of Shetland Park, answering questions or protecting others was his passion.

A very kind and gentle man who lived a simple life, Bill frequented the First Baptist Church in Salem where he had many friends. He fostered friendships from childhood making sure he always stayed in touch. Bill was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, often without being asked. He enjoyed the outdoors and could be found taking pictures of nature, family, and friends.  He was a kind soul who was loved by all who knew him and will be sorely missed.

Bill is survived by his only brother, Michael P. Phelan and his sister-in-law, N. Malia Griffin of Salem Willows, along with several cousins and extended family, many friends, and co-workers.

ARRANGEMENTS: Services at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM on Wednesday, December 28 ^th, Visiting hours from 1 to 3:30 P.M. followed by a short service.
