Obituary

DANVERS – Mr. Winder Peña, 33 of Danvers, formerly of Salem, loving husband of Alba Peña passed away peacefully after a courageous fight against glioblastoma on Friday, May 23, 2025 at his home, with his family by his side.

Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Winder was the son of William Pena Medina and the late Daisy Lucia Santana. He grew up in La Romana, Dominican Republic before immigrating to the United States at the age of 12, settling in Salem, Massachusetts where he was raised and educated. Winder graduated from Salem High School in 2010 and continued his education at North Shore Community College.

A hard and dedicated worker, Winder dedicated over 15 years of his life to Macy's, where he worked diligently to rise from a new employee to the esteemed position of Director in Store. His commitment, hard work, and passion for excellence were evident in every aspect of his professional journey.

Outside of work, Winder was an embodiment of joy and humor, his sharp wit and sarcastic charm endearing him to friends and family alike. He possessed an unparalleled enthusiasm for technology and smart home innovations, passionately sharing his knowledge and love for the latest gadgets. Whether convincing family members to invest in a Tesla or recommending the efficiency of a robot lawn mower, Winder sought to simplify life's tasks, much to the amusement of those around him.

Winder's love for sports was profound, particularly his admiration for basketball, baseball, and football. An avid fan of Al Horford and Tom Brady, he cherished every moment spent at Boston Celtics and New England Patriots games, creating lasting memories with those he loved. His laughter and spirited discussions about sports will remain etched in the hearts of those who knew him.

In addition to his loving wife, Alba of Danvers, Winder is survived by his beloved daughter, Mariana Pena, his son and twin, Winder Pena, Jr., and newest son, Xavier Pena; he leaves many brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and many other extended and loving family members. His unwavering love for his family and friends was evident in everything he did, and he will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
